Billboard Music Awards 2016: trionfano The Weeknd e Adele, ecco tutti i vincitori

La notte scorsa, tra il 22 e il 23 maggio, si sono svolti i Billboard Music Awards 2016 in cui sono stati premiati i migliori artisti dell’anno.

Billboard Music Awards 2016: la serata e i premi speciali

Il rapper Ludacris e la cantante Ciara ha condotto la cerimonia dalla T-Mobile Arena di Las Vegas e, oltre alle premiazioni delle varie categorie, sono stati assegnati anche due premi speciali. A Britney Spears è stato consegnato il Billboard Millennium Award per i successi ottenuti in carriera e per l’influenza sull’industria musicale, che prima di lei era stato dato a Beyoncè e Whitney Houston. Quindi è stata premiata per tre decadi di carriera con il Billboard Icon Celine Dion.

La serata dei Billboard Music Awards 2016 è anche performance e durante la cerimonia sono state davvero tantissime le esibizioni con Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Rihanna, le Fifth Harmony, Blake Shelton con Gwen Stefani, DNCE, Shawn Mendes, The Go-Go, Demi Lovato, Troye Sivan, Meghan Trainor, P!nk, i Lukas Graham, Nick Jonas con Tove Lo e Kesha. La performance più attesa è però stata quella dell’opening act riservata a Britney Spears che ha incendiato l’Arena con un medley dei suoi più grandi successi Work Bitch, Womanizer, I Love Rock N Roll, Breathe On Me, Slave For You, Touch Of My Hand, Toxic.

Durante i Billboard Music Awards 2016 il momento più toccante è stato sicuramente l’omaggio di Madonna e Stevie Wonder a Prince, il grandissimo artista scomparso lo scorso aprile. Adele ha invece colto l’occasione della cerimonia per fare far debuttare a livello globale il videoclip di Send My Love (To Your New Lover), il nuovo singolo da 25.

A trionfare durante la serata è stato The Weeknd che si è aggiudicato ben 8 premi: Top Hot 100 Artist, Top Song Sales Artist, Top Radio Songs Artist, Top Streaming Songs Artist, Top Streaming Song (Audio) per The Hills, Top R&B Artist, Top R&B Song per The Hills e Top R&B Album. Mentre senza molte sorprese, ha conquistato 5 Billboard Awards Adele come Top Artst, Top Female Artist, Top Billboard 200 Artist, Top Billboard 200 Album e Top Selling Song.
